Liberation — A Poem

Liberation is hard work; it takes an abundance of love indeed. It’s harder to enslave one’s self. Some successfully succeed.

They bind their souls with the defeated flag of the grey confederacy and walk lockstep with gouty feet of false prophets and their fake prophesies

They latch their minds to Q-a-nothing ’til their spirits stench like festered flesh and deadbolt their children to their ways of bitterness and brokenness

They hold fake patriotic rallies filled with angst and fetishized fear and lock themselves in contaminated cages and scream so everyone hears

They take themselves hostage and tie their body in knots of calamity and hate and inject themselves with poisoned news, their quick demise I anticipate

It takes a lot of work to enslave one’s self. Thank God I am free. I have love, and faith, and hope, and joy. These gifts indeed liberate me.
